Why this project exists

The project was born as a commercial product. The Foundation decided to change the model: the goal is not to sell software, but to make good technology available to the whole dental community — including the small practices that usually can't afford it.

Why dentistry?

Dentistry is one of the medical professions with the most independent practices. Each practice is a small organisation that must manage patients, staff, equipment and schedules — often without the resources of a hospital. Good digital tools make a big difference here, and that is exactly where cost is the biggest obstacle.

The problem

Many dental practices still manage appointments, patients and daily work with paper, phone calls and disconnected programs. Professional software is often expensive, and that cost becomes a barrier — especially for young dentists and small practices.

The digital solution

Occlusa covers the whole day of a dental practice in one place: from the patient in the waiting room to the treatment plan, from the agenda by chair to payments and stock. Each role — owner, dentist, hygienist, assistant, front desk, accounting — sees only what it needs.

What it does

  • Today & agenda

The day's patient flow, urgencies and clinical alerts; agenda by chair and by dentist, with conflict checks.

  • Patient record

Medical history, allergies, clinical notes, treatment plans, documents, images and prescriptions.

  • Interactive odontogram

FDI chart with full change history, periodontal and orthodontic charts, implant tracking.

  • Quotes & payments

Quotes, payments, instalments and overdue amounts, with an overview of the practice's income.

  • Practice operations

Laboratory orders, recalls, inventory, sterilisation, tasks and patient communications.

  • Roles & audit trail

Permissions by role and a server-written audit log that cannot be altered; five languages.

01

Initial free access

12 months

For the first 12 months the platform is free. No commitment is needed to start: the free period exists to remove the economic barrier to adoption.

02

Sustainability model

€10/ month

After the free period, a sustainability contribution of about €10 per month supports what keeps the project alive:

  • Platform infrastructure
  • Maintenance and security
  • New development
  • User support
  • Foundation activities
  • New educational and technological projects

This is not a free trial followed by a subscription: it is a contribution to a non-profit project. Amounts and periods may be updated; any change is communicated in advance.

Education for dental professionals

Alongside the platform, the Foundation will offer courses and guides for dental teams: digital organisation of the practice, data protection, communication with patients and the responsible use of AI tools.

Future development

The platform will grow with the people who use it. Dentists who join early will help decide which features come next.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free for 12 months?

Yes. During the free access period there is no cost. Before it ends you can decide whether to continue.

What happens afterwards?

If you choose to continue, a sustainability contribution of about €10 per month supports the platform and the Foundation's projects. The detailed terms are agreed when access is activated.

Who is behind the project?

Fundația „Study and Development”, a Romanian non-profit foundation based in Iași.

How can I try it?

On the Occlusa website there are demo accounts of a fictional clinic, one for each role. Use made-up data only — never real patients — and write to us to activate your practice.

Join the project

Are you a dentist or do you run a dental practice? Try the demo on the Occlusa website, then write to us: we will activate access for your practice.

Social & professional impact

Removing the economic barrier lets every practice — not only the larger ones — work with modern tools. The small contribution after the free period keeps the platform alive and finances new educational and technological projects for the community.

Occlusa is a separate platform with its own website, terms and conditions. The Foundation presents it as part of its digital projects; complete and up-to-date information is on the official website.
